Bungee Fitness
Fitness with a Purpose!
Movement, lifted.
Experience strength, cardio, and play in a whole new way. The bungee supports your body and invites you to move differently—at any age, any ability, any starting point.
Bungee fitness uses a supportive harness and resistance cords attached to the ceiling to partially unload your body weight during movement. This allows participants to jump, squat, lean, and move through space with less joint impact while still building strength and cardiovascular endurance. Experience strength, cardio, and play in a whole new way as the bungee supports your body and invites you to move differently.
At Unity, bungee fitness is approached through an occupational therapy lens. The bungee system both supports and resists movement, helping your body develop strength, coordination, balance, and functional movement patterns that carry into everyday life.
The rhythmic bouncing and dynamic movement can also support circulation and lymphatic flow, creating a gentle pumping effect throughout the body. Many participants leave class feeling both energized and lighter.
Because everyone begins at a different place, we offer three progressive class levels so participants can build skill, strength, and confidence over time.
First Flight
Your introduction to the bungee system. You’ll learn how to use the harness, understand basic movement patterns, and begin building strength and coordination—all while getting comfortable moving in the air. First Flight is open to all ages and fitness levels. No experience needed. Just show up ready to try something new.
Gentle Flight
A slower-paced bungee class built around supported, functional movement. Gentle Flight is designed for participants who want more time, more modification, or a gentler approach—whether that’s due to age, injury recovery, chronic conditions, or simply being at the beginning of a fitness journey. The bungee provides extra support so you can focus on balance, coordination, and building strength at your own pace. Open to all ages.
Lift Off
Once the basics feel natural, Lift Off adds more dynamic sequences, strength work, and cardiovascular training. Movements become smoother, faster, and more playful as confidence grows.
Flight School
Our most advanced bungee class. Flight School focuses on power, endurance, and more complex movement combinations for participants who are ready to fully explore what the bungee system can do.

What to Expect:
Your first class:
Arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you fitted into your harness and answer any questions before class begins.
Wear form-fitting athletic clothing — leggings or fitted pants and a snug top work best. Loose clothing can be uncomfortable. Supportive athletic shoes are required.
Bring water. You’ll work harder than you think.
Classes are capped at 8 participants so every person gets individual attention and a dedicated bungee rig. Booking in advance is recommended.
You don’t need to be in shape to start. The bungee meets you where you are. It supports your body weight, reduces impact on joints, and lets you move in ways that might not be possible on the ground. Whether you’re 18 or 80, a marathon runner or someone getting off the couch for the first time—this is for you.

No. Bungee fitness is not safe during pregnancy and is not permitted under any circumstances for participants who are pregnant.
-
The harness is designed to support the hips and glutes, and it may feel unfamiliar at first. Most participants find it quickly becomes comfortable once movement begins. Our instructors will make sure your harness is properly fitted before class starts.
-
You’re not going up—you’re moving out. The bungee is attached to the ceiling, but your feet stay close to the ground. Most of the movement is horizontal, not vertical. It feels more like floating than flying.
-
Wear fitted leggings or athletic wear — the harness fits better over snug clothing. Cross-training sneakers to start, bare feet as you strengthen your ankles, arches and toes. Avoid loose jewelry and tie your hair back. Running shoes are not recommended.
-
You are always welcome to pause, step back, or rest during class. Your safety and comfort come first. Let the instructor know if you feel unwell at any point.

In many cases, yes—bungee fitness actually reduces joint load, which can be helpful for people with joint pain or mobility limitations. Our Gentle Flight class is specifically designed for participants who need a more supported approach. If you have specific medical concerns, we recommend checking with your healthcare provider first.
